If sudden illness, injury, or an unexpected absence prevents you from voting in person, Rhode Island's emergency mail ballot period also runs through 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8. Contact your local board of canvassers for details.

Registered Republicans
Registered Republican voters may vote in the Republican primary.
Unaffiliated Voters
Unaffiliated Rhode Island voters may choose a Republican primary ballot.
Voters Registered With Another Political Party
The deadline to change party affiliation for this primary has passed.

- Mail Ballot Return Deadline
Completed mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9. A postmark is not enough. The ballot must be in the hands of election officials by 8 p.m.

Already Have a Mail Ballot?
If you already received your Rhode Island mail ballot:
- Review your ballot and the enclosed instructions carefully.
- Vote for Stephen T. Skoly for U.S. Congress, Rhode Island's Second Congressional District.
- Complete and sign all required information on the ballot certifying envelope. An unsigned envelope can invalidate your ballot.
- Return your ballot right away by one of these methods:
• Deposit it in an official 24-hour mail ballot drop box in your city or town.
• Hand deliver it to the Rhode Island State Board of Elections, 2000 Plainfield Pike, Cranston, RI 02921.
• Mail it, allowing several days for delivery.
Election officials must receive it by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9. A postmark by that date is not sufficient.
